My ANC is still a bit low - 1.4
I‘m getting my Taxol #6 along with Herceptin and Perjeta #3 treatment today. Typically if my ANC (WBC) falls below the 1.5 my treatment would be pushed again. I’m right at the cusp and getting treatment anyway. This means I have to take even more extra caution. Otherwise I‘d get sick easily. And I don’t want to develop an infection.
Here are some things I have to do:
- Stay away from crowds (no shopping at malls; stick to online) Thanks Jeff Bezos for Amazon 😁
- No more poke or sushi sneakiness (cook my proteins)
- Fruits and veggies must be washed (double wash if eating them raw)
- Sorry kiddos can’t be around germs; so gotta limit my visits with you
- Keep washing my hands and sanitize
- Visitors must sanitize their hands as soon as you walk in our house
- You have a little tickle or cough, please don’t be offended when I have to step away from you
- NO MORE HUGS (this is for me and my natural habit)
- Wear a mask at all times when in public
- Sanitize sanitize sanitize
There isn't anything I can do, eat, or drink to increase my ANC. It’s all part of the meds and something that is known will happen. When it does happen I have to be extra cautious with my surroundings and taking care of myself. At lease we know the meds are doing what they’re supposed to do.
