My first skin side effect...After 7 radiation treatments I noticed a pimple on my chest. That was on a Friday. Over the weekend I noticed more popping up. So on Monday I asked my medical team about it. They said this is normal folliculitis (inflammation of hair follicles) which is one of the side effects from radiation therapy. I was getting these towards the middle near one of my pin point tattoo on my chest. Additionally, this section of my chest has a thinner layer of skin so it’s more susceptible to skin rashes early on in my treatment. The hair on my chest was getting angry.
Thank goodness it isn’t itchy. I just get that extra decorative design on my chest if I wear a V-neck. 😉
My nurse gave me some cortisone cream to help ease the inflammation. I purchased the Miaderm which was recommended to ease any radiation side effects. I put these creams on right after each radiation treatment. On Fridays and during the weekend I use the Vitamin E oil on my skin to help with the scars and healing my skin.
I can’t have anything on my skin area being traded and underarm 4 hours prior to treatment. Will get a blog together of do’s and don’ts for radiation therapy.
With all my gratitude to everyone. Be safe. Be well. Be thoughtful about your loved ones and your community.

Well I suppose it’s not too awful of a side effect for now... As a kid/teenager I always had clear skin. I didn’t get any acne or blemishes until my adult years.. ugh! Hang in there at least your halfway through. 👍🏼
