Not Her2

My personal journal with breast cancer #NotHer2

Welcome to Not Her2, my personal journal of my experiences since being diagnosed with breast cancer. I want to use this platform as an opportunity to help educate and inspire my readers. Hopefully we can fight to end breast cancer and we can stop saying,  "Not her too!"

THP - what does it mean?

THP is an acronym of the new set of chemo and targeted treatment drugs that I just started on 4/25.

T - Taxol (chemo)

H - Herceptin (targeted chemo)

P - Perjeta (targeted chemo)

Here are a few links that I found helpful and informative.

Scroll down to HER2-positive tumors - https://ww5.komen.org/BreastCancer/TheChemotherapyDrugs.html

This site talks about taxotene which is a similar to taxol - https://www.lbbc.org/learn/treatments-and-research/chemotherapy/common-chemotherapy-regimens/thp-docetaxel-trastuzumab

Detailed info about each drug - http://chemocare.com

As my body works through this drug and I pay attention to learn about what side effects I may experience, I’ll keep everyone posted.

Again, I will end this blog with a HUGE thank you to all of you that is always sending their love, prayers, support, gifts, check-ins, your time, your ear, and your voice of reason (God knows sometimes this gal needs it).

Always grateful for my God’s love, grace, mercy, compassion, and listening to all of our prayers!

Avegail, I know you’re a strong person and a fighter like Pacquiao. I believe that God is always with you and taking care of you on your treatment journey. I love you so much Anak! Mom
